Governing Body
West Thurrock Academy have a dedicated and enthusiastic team of governors who support the strategic development of the school. Representatives come from several groups which include parents and staff. The purpose of the group is to help the school deliver the best possible education, by:
- Setting the school’s vision, strategic aims and policies
- Monitoring and evaluating performance
- Ensuring the school is accountable to all its stakeholders
The Governing Body of the school is responsible for ensuring that the school provides the best possible education for the children and fulfils all the requirements laid down by law.
The Governing Body is made up of a variety of different types of governors. Parent governors are elected by the parents of the children of the school. Teaching and non-teaching staff governors are elected by their colleagues. Elections are held every four years, unless a vacancy arises.
